MKCA’s Park Ave Prewar Apartment project is featured on D Pages. Nestled in a dark site, careful effort was devoted to create the sense of illumination without many visible fixtures. Materials were selected for their properties relative to light–reflectivity, sheen, and contrast were all immensely important qualities for the finishes of the space. The result of this selection yields spaces that are dynamic in contrast and complex in their relationships to their surroundings.
