Micro Living Housing Development

At home with the things that matter. A Micro Housing prototype building development designed by MKCA for a major international manufacturing concern to address emerging living concepts suited for contemporary urban life.  At 30 square meters, the micro living unit is just about the size of 1.5 parking spaces but is loaded with the amenities of a much larger space. the unit encompasses all of the elements of a home, held in careful balance and with thoughtful relationships between elements.

The Mini Living unit collects a series of ultra-functional transforming elements that can be pushed and pulled to transform the space around them. The unit design can be collected into an 8-10 unit infill building that corresponds to a row house dimension or infill lot. Mini Living enlists the essential services and circulation of a residential building as instruments for building a community. There are so many ways to live. Transformability makes for changing spaces and creates multiple personalities from morning to night.
