Upper West Side Mansion

MKCA was engaged by a international real estate fund undertaking a substantial renovation of a landmark Beaux Arts mansion just off Central Park West to develop interior design concepts and strategies that bridge historic fabric and contemporary lifestyles.

The public interior of the building are undergoing a detailed preservation and restoration. Particular attention has been placed on the insertion of capacious and luxurious baths that will attract and satisfy high-end buyers and contemporary ideas about luxurious bathing while remaining respectful of and taking advantage of exceptional historic details and decorative motifs existing in the building. Material palettes, fixture types, and custom details were developed that comprise a consistent language for nine baths spread over 12,000 square feet, while providing a sense that each room has been highly customized.
